My "Parsonal" Opinion

In some ways, the Prodigal Son took a job feeding the hogs because he envied them. They had enough to eat, and he didn't. We look back in revulsion to think about it. And especially this young man; swine swill was definitely not on his kosher list!

Again, I remind you that the parables Jesus told came from His own mind and heart. And there are always the bottom line applications which stagger our minds. A paramount obligation of gospel preaching is always the woeful warnings which must be sounded. Without that, God told Ezekiel (3:18), the "...wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand."

You can imagine something of the anguish of Jesus' heart. No wonder He sweat tears of blood, and yielded Himself to the horrors of the cross!

But, as His children and proclaimers, there's "more to the story!" Can you imagine carrying the whole good news in your bosom! Not only was there the Divine Comprehension of all sin's consequences - the ultimate reapage of hell. There was absolute knowledge of every waiting wonder of glory!

On earth, young parents fear they may burst before they can share the sparkling gifts of Christmas with little children! The Bible says Jesus could bear the agony of crucifixion because He knew the joy and glory it would win for us. He reckoned His own grief as nothing because He loved us so much! (I believe He is still pained to know so many are still rejecting his unspeakable bounty!)

And speaking of bounty, just check this mail-out for all the super-good things we are awaiting these next few weeks! Please miss nothing!

Lovingly,
Bro. Clyde
